Day 40

Highlights from this week:

Sunday, I got offered my first tip for a tour. That was a nice morale boost. We had a new show go up, and no one likes it. That's always awkward.

This week I put out my first mailing all by myself. I battled the copier and emerged triumphant. I have learned how to copy double-sided and tri-folded. I have mastered the machine that licks envelopes for you. Whabam!

We had a ton of bad weather this week-- a no'eastah they call it. Heavy snow Wednesday, heavy rain Thursday, then back to heavy snow Friday. I was out postering the last 2 days, and learned that my winter boots are not water-resistant. Awkward, and very unfortunate.

Friday, I gave my first tour to students-- high schoolers from a charter school. It was fun figuring out what would engage them and how they approached the pieces differently from my other tours. It made me a bit more optimistic about TFA. Maybe they won't eat me alive.

I picked up a second job editing resumes and essays for ESL people in China, and it seems fun so far. It's nice to be all fix-it with someone else's life.

Things Learned This Week: Houses without heat during a Massachusetts winter are very, very cold.
