Day 1

Breakfast: Strawberry Frosted Poptarts (note to self: not enough food. must upgrade to grown-up breakfast starting tomorrow)
Lunch: Red Pepper and Fire Roasted Tomato soup
Dinner: Penne pasta with olive oil and parmesian, half a baguette (note to self: will perhaps consider other food groups besides carbohydrates in the future)

Holy mackerel! I was oriented up down and sideways! I was skeptical about getting everything done by 1 (I am always skeptical about people who tack lunch after an impossible schedule), but they did it. We met with a different person every 15 minutes-- not kidding. I learned about the Box Office (I get tickets to things), Payroll (I will get paid as long as I show up and don't fail at life), Mailing Systems and Supplies (we have them), Email (Outlook revamped-- who knew?), Security (there was something about green rats. I stopped listening after that.), and the Galleries (they're quite nice). Ooof.

One of the tours broke my room-mate's heart; we learned about the special requests of one of her favorite musicians. You're not allowed to look at him directly. Ever.

It sounds a lot like art camp. We get Intern Outings once a month, which sound totally adorable. The last intern in my position left me a note saying "Don't tell the others, but you have the best gig in town." So that's always encouraging.

My boss' boss looks remarkably like Maria Bello. She's started a wardrobe exchange out of the ladies' bathroom. I like her. My boss is from Idaho and an ex-speechie. It's a cult, I swear-- you can never escape.

I sent mailings to Mssrs. Semon and McWeeny during the afternoon. I think they should be friends.

Fun Thing Learned Today: how to label in a ruthlessly efficient manner.
